punch slug love

We are infested with bugs here in Abilene... crickets, spiders, ants and mosquitoes. But there is one bug that seems be be much more prevalent, and as time goes on their population multiplies.

I am talking about those darn V-Dub bugs! Abilene is crawling with them. Yellow, orange, blue, cream, black, sliver, white and green. Hard tops, drop tops and that dang Geek Squad bug. There isn't a car trip that goes by where we don't see at least 1 (usually 2 or 3) bugs.

Braden learned the 'slug bug' game last year from his friend Matthew, and since then he has developed a mild obsession with them. Like me, he likes the classic (or as we call them old fashion) bugs best. And we can usually spot one of those once or twice a month. But there are so many of the regular bugs now, that the game has sort of lost its appeal ... for me that is... Braden, not so much... it has just intensified his interest.

A long time ago (before kids) Mason ask me what car I wanted to drive. My answer? A beetle of course! But sadly for the way my life rolls today the car is too small. So right now I live vicariously through Lisa and her new car!

As for the 'game'... I am trying to turn Braden on to my other favorite looking car the Honda Element... I love the boxie squareness of them....

So far I have noticed that they are much harder to find around here... but maybe when we start looking we will find that they are just as ubiquitous as the bug -and it was just the fact that we were not paying attention!

I love mine. LOVE IT. It's small, and some shopping trips take prior planning, but it's so cute and fun to drive that I can get past that. Someday you'll have to do it!

My brother and sis-in-law have an Element. Boxy, indeed!
