On Saturday the boys and I went to Pinnacle Mountain State Park. We decided to take the paved 1/2 mile trail to start out..... Tristan can't really walk/hike on the other 'real' trails... and I really wanted him to get some exercise.
Our choice proved to be a good one, and a popular one with the preschool set. There were all types out on the trail, many different families. At one point I noticed a young little girl, maybe only a year or two older than Braden. She was visibly overweight.... I was happy to see that her parents had taken her outside for a bit of exercise. Then.... she turned to the side and I was able to see what she was holding in her hand. A large bag of M & M's .........
Sigh......

Sad. :( Salem has a friend in her class that is overweight and she knows it. To me at that age it should be about the parents offering healthy choices and keeping them active.
